But then I figured out that if I take out a mortgage, I don't have to save nearly as long, and I can let my tenants pay off the place for me. If it takes 20 years, it's no big deal. I can amortize the place, save some taxes. And I still make money EVERY MONTH. Back when I started out, a couple of years ago, everybody was all about flipping. Flip this, flip that... and when the "buy-sell" bubble collapsed, they all flipped their lids. Then when I mentioned how easy it is to get paid just to own, they flipped me something that we can't discuss in polite conversation. And pay close attention to what all those "gurus" are telling you. It's almost always the same gimmick-ridden garbage about how it's "Just 1-2-3" or whatever. But when you get their materials home, if there's a 1-2-3 with those guys it's more like I make a large portion of my income through my rental houses, and you can too.
