This is one of my maze series, in which I explore the possibility that, in other universes, a very similar overall make-up can result in something radically different. I got this from one of my favorie movies, in which one man plays two characters who end up fighting over the combined energies of every version of that one particular man. From this, I made a group of 15 (so far) mazes in acrylic paint, each on a 16" x 20" canvas. For this maze, I tapped an interest of mine only marginally related to art: classic arcade game emulation. There is an arcade game older than I am, in which one maneuvers a tank and blasts enemies into oblivion, based upon the concept of vector graphics, in which x and y coordinates radiate from one spot, and everything is plotted. I took this idea, and put in an off-center focal point, to which every line either points, or is perpendicular to. Overall, my main area of dissatisfaction (this is my favorite of the mazes) is that the lime-green wash I used didn't get perfect coverage, and it was a pain to reapply it to get a mostly-even look. It isn't as uneven in real life as the picture would indicate, though.
