This is one of my maze series, in which I explore the possibility that, in other universes, a very similar overall make-up can result in something radically different. I got this from one of my favorie movies, in which one man plays two characters who end up fighting over the combined energies of every version of that one particular man. From this, I made a group of 15 (so far) mazes in acrylic paint, each on a 16" x 20" canvas. The first of the maze series, I was going for a fairly complicated composition, very warm-dominant. Beginning by whiting-over one of my terrible, earlier paintings, I put down a yellow base coat, and proceeded to trace loose waves over light red. Soon, these were joined by a darker, more maroon red. This piece would go well in a green room, and it wouldn't be a loud reminder of Christmas. Most people don't realize how dynamic decorating in complementary colors (colors on opposite sides of the color wheel) can be.
