This is one of my maze series, in which I explore the possibility that, in other universes, a very similar overall make-up can result in something radically different. I got this from one of my favorie movies, in which one man plays two characters who end up fighting over the combined energies of every version of that one particular man. From this, I made a group of 15 (so far) mazes in acrylic paint, each on a 16" x 20" canvas. The second of the maze series, I was going for something very tight, very strong. It looks a little corporate, in retrospect... and if you represent a corporation, I'll make one that looks like this, just as large and fancy as you'll pay for. Anyway, this maze deals especially with the disparity between the straight line and the curved line. A straight line tends to waste energy, powering through the natural curvature of the universe. I didn't address the other extreme of the circle, because it just didn't lend itself to the composition I wanted to form. Now that this one's out of my system, I may yet make a genuine hybrid, circle-straight piece.
