This is one of my maze series, in which I explore the possibility that, in other universes, a very similar overall make-up can result in something radically different. I got this from one of my favorie movies, in which one man plays two characters who end up fighting over the combined energies of every version of that one particular man. From this, I made a group of 15 (so far) mazes in acrylic paint, each on a 16" x 20" canvas. This maze has something of a special meaning for me. I used to hang out in a coffee house that no longer exists, and its one lasting vestige to me (other than a couple of pounds from all the delicious smoothies I had there) was the memory of how the place smelled. Some say scent is the strongest memory-trigger... underneath this maze, I did my best to depict visually how that coffee house smelled on its best nights.
