This is one of my maze series, in which I explore the possibility that, in other universes, a very similar overall make-up can result in something radically different. I got this from one of my favorie movies, in which one man plays two characters who end up fighting over the combined energies of every version of that one particular man. From this, I made a group of 15 (so far) mazes in acrylic paint, each on a 16" x 20" canvas. This maze actually got its start in my quasi-abstract expressionist way, in which I poured paint on, then rolled Jonas over it to make a deep, thick texture. It sat that way for a long time... until I took a look and thought, "Somewhere, a version of me works with a lot of texture. He should be represented." So I began to drop white paint onto the canvas, and after only a few layers, I was fairly satisfied with the composition. I know, this is conservatively-done, and the maze, though having neither beginning nor end, is fairly simple. Nonetheless, I wasn't so much going for the brain-teaser aspect of the maze (witness, if you will... no start, no end. A serious test of intellectual fortitude, in and of itself), but the concept of a maze.
