This began as classwork, where I was to draw a woman who was just laying there. This model was not interested in me, probably because of the nervous way I'd tried to talk to her. Not that I'm uncomfortable fishing from the company pier, or anything. A woman's lips and her heart are sometimes difficult places to find, which I've represented with a maze. This maze, like the dating and mating games we humans use in our reproduction, are very circular, and have neither beginning nor end. Of course, though they be closed here (it would be a frightening piece indeed, had I drawn her eyes open), a woman's eyes, the simplest and loveliest places to gaze at, are the ways to know her best.
