This piece came from my notably large scrap pile. I was commanded by my woodworking professor to clean out... and to use at least 1000 attachments. This clock is a breakout for me, not only from a technical standpoint (I had never made a clock before), but because it let me do what I always do; align small pieces to make a great point. Each piece here was once thrown out, often from a larger chunk I cut down... one, or two, or ten of these pieces would be nothing. But together, they make things happen. People do the same thing... one person can't get much done, but when two or three make up their minds to do something, watch out. The biggest corporations in the world have come from small groups of people with more determination than talent. I build pieces out of scrap because, from my earliest memories I've been building things. As a child, I had Legos (I'm not affiliated with their company in any way) and duct tape. Now, this piece is a personal inspiration. I can build just about anything!
