This looks a lot like a charcoal drawing, which was a happy accident. This came from a picture I took of the Sun for an insignificant science project... despite the oxymoronic relationship in such a statement. All I did was reverse the colors and add some red, and it looks like a student work in charcoal that could have been done hundreds of years ago. Not many people know this, but drawing was careful to the point of being anal-retentive until roughly 500 years ago, when less expensive types of paper started being manufactured in Europe. In prior times, a doodle just wasn't worth it. Imagine the shock of an old master if they found out how cheaply a hack graphic designer like myself can throw together something trivial and have it be this good-looking.
