This piece is very interesting, in that it was the first in which I used my innovative new method of color treatment for those lines. Nature put the grain structure there, and all I did was carefully ink over the grain lines. Then, I set the knothole as though it were a stone (some people actually ask what kind of stone it is). For the record, this piece contains, as do all my knothole pieces, no stone whatsoever. They are wood, metal and anal-retentive attention to detail. I like writing these jewelry profiles- just pretty things that don't need much explanation.
