Elegant Knothole Pendant and Choker

Elegant Knothole Pendant and Choker

2004. Pine and stain. 2" x 2" x 1". Sold! But you can always commission a similar piece.

This piece is very interesting, in that it was the first in which I used my innovative new method of color treatment for those lines. Nature put the grain structure there, and all I did was carefully ink over the grain lines. Then, I set the knothole as though it were a stone (some people actually ask what kind of stone it is). For the record, this piece contains, as do all my knothole pieces, no stone whatsoever. They are wood, metal and anal-retentive attention to detail. I like writing these jewelry profiles- just pretty things that don't need much explanation.

Some of my favorite pieces

One Dusk

One Dusk

The question isn't whether it's beautiful... the question is, is it really a depiction of dusk?

Whatever you do, do NOT let the pieces fall into the hands of a small child.

A Battle Under the Surface

A Battle Under the Surface.

It's just so... Line-y. Not to be confused with 'Limey.' Although I hear the British are pretty nautical...
