Opportunity

Opportunity

This piece began as a simple line drawing with a concept, and quickly became one of my favorite paintings. I'm of the type who believe there's opportunity everywhere, for those with the courage and the discipline to form a plan, and make it move. The eye is immediately drawn to the white, vaguely circular shape, which would seem to be in immediate danger of being gobbled up by a surprisingly-unfrightening monster. People often shrink away from challenges which would seem too grandiose, too difficult, or simply out of reach for someone of their socioeconomic class, race, height, looks, brand of soda they drink, and all other kinds of nonsense. For those with courage, a driving ambition, and a defined path to their goal, anything can be reached. From a technical standpoint, I didn't put enough reaction into my color scheme (I wish I'd had a color scheme, looking back on it). This piece taught me a lot.

One Dusk

One Dusk

The question isn't whether it's beautiful... the question is, is it really a depiction of dusk?

Whatever you do, do NOT let the pieces fall into the hands of a small child.

A Battle Under the Surface

A Battle Under the Surface.

It's just so... Line-y. Not to be confused with 'Limey.' Although I hear the British are pretty nautical...
