Beta, in Green and Brown

Beta, in Green and Brown

2003. Acrylic on canvas. 18" x 24" Sold! But you can always commission a similar piece.

This piece is one of my Beta series, deriving nearly all of its paint from the scraps of another project. I hate wasting things, and this is a good justification if the work turns to crap. This one turned out better than it's originator (not me. the other piece). It has a lot of subliminal, representational elements, and, as one of my insightful friends so eloquently pointed out, "It's green... and brown." There was no significant planning involved, and this piece has a deficit of color theory application. If any Native Americans, Aboriginis, of descendants of ancient South American civilizations spot any familiar symbolism, let me know; it'll raise the sale value. P lease note, if I used smileys, I would've used one after that last sentence. Well, if I were either dumb or insecure enough to sufficiently doubt my ability to express humor through the written word, I would've used them. If I were lame.

Some of my favorite pieces

I'm not a parent. I admit I have favorites...

One Dusk

One Dusk

The question isn't whether it's beautiful... the question is, is it really a depiction of dusk?

Whatever you do, do NOT let the pieces fall into the hands of a small child.

A Battle Under the Surface

A Battle Under the Surface.

It's just so... Line-y. Not to be confused with 'Limey.' Although I hear the British are pretty nautical...
