Heart Repair Station

Heart Repair Station

2003. Acrylic on canvas. 24" 18" Not for sale. But you can always commission a similar piece.

I like the flatness of this image. It wasn't intentional, and it looks like cheap graphic design, but it demonstrates how shallow it is when somebody is "heartbroken." The little bits of green down below are just the little hobgoblins (memories) that keep following a heart around, even after it's fixed. They're neutral, but continually bright. The background is black, to indicate an emptiness... a recent emptiness, no doubt. A person tends to feel very weak when stripped of the relationship upon which they've grown dependant; the yellow triangles are actually rather comforting, in this context. I recall getting out of relationships... how some were heart-rending, and how others were easy; I didn't have nearly that many clean triangles.

Some of my favorite pieces

I'm not a parent. I admit I have favorites...

One Dusk

One Dusk

The question isn't whether it's beautiful... the question is, is it really a depiction of dusk?

Whatever you do, do NOT let the pieces fall into the hands of a small child.

A Battle Under the Surface

A Battle Under the Surface.

It's just so... Line-y. Not to be confused with 'Limey.' Although I hear the British are pretty nautical...
