Vessel of Recreation

Vessel of Recreation

2005. Iron wire. 2 3/4" x 5 3/4" x 10 3/4" Not for sale. But you can always commission a similar piece.

This critter is derived from a series of which there are no survivors. See, back in the day, I used to have a lot of free time... and my idle hands naturally began to make things. I still have my first pair of needle nose pliers, with which I made my earliest wire figures. The premise I eventually thought of was that I fear my own mortality; not so much dying, but of having to start all over again as a little child with no knowledge and little status. Hence, if I make a 'body' out of wire, which lasts a long time and can take some punishment, then perhaps my soul can inhabit it long enough to assemble a larger, more suitable body. I was never so evil as think of pulling a Chuckie... besides, most people let their bodies go to hell from an early age. When this body falls asunder, I'll have at least a few 'service bots' to aid me in returning to the mortal realm. It's also good in case I get hit by a truck... damned random life-shortening events.

Some of my favorite pieces

I'm not a parent. I admit I have favorites...

One Dusk

One Dusk

The question isn't whether it's beautiful... the question is, is it really a depiction of dusk?

Whatever you do, do NOT let the pieces fall into the hands of a small child.

A Battle Under the Surface

A Battle Under the Surface.

It's just so... Line-y. Not to be confused with 'Limey.' Although I hear the British are pretty nautical...
