This piece is tortured... which some people are going to love, and an equal number will dispise, as it might as well be. In this piece, I worked on having centralized areas of positive and negative space. I was consciously trying to control the space, and I used deep and recognizable grain structures to carry along the viewer's eye. I also used about nine different colors of leftover spray paint, and a nail to scratch into it. I tried just about everything I could think of with this one (even sandblasted it, a little bit). This does have a sort of post-industrial look, especially in this photo. Now, of course light always has an effect on how something looks (no light=don't see anything), but light plays a huge role in GfBtG (this title's kinda fun to say). I mean, I would probably be well-advised to include images of this piece under a couple of different lighting conditions, just to show off its diverse possibilities. I challenge anyone to find a color scheme that doesn't include something from this piece (I need to do some writing on color schemes and decorations).
