Another World

Another World

2004. Cast aluminum. 13" diameter. Sold! But you can always commission a similar piece.

This piece was commissioned by my school's Religious Life organization. The group's name is fairly self-explanatory, but in this case, these symbols are less recognizable. The round portion is the 8-sided path, which symbolizes Buddhism. The tree-like symbol near the top, whose name I can neither pronounce nor spell, is a hallmark of Shinto. The crudely-executed tulip represents Hinduism.

This is one of the rare examples of when someone actually likes my work. I was overjoyed to have been commissioned to do "One World", but when the lady in charge saw it, she pretty much commissioned this one then and there. Talk about synergy.

Some of my favorite pieces

I'm not a parent. I admit I have favorites...

One Dusk

One Dusk

The question isn't whether it's beautiful... the question is, is it really a depiction of dusk?

Whatever you do, do NOT let the pieces fall into the hands of a small child.

A Battle Under the Surface

A Battle Under the Surface.

It's just so... Line-y. Not to be confused with 'Limey.' Although I hear the British are pretty nautical...
