This piece was commissioned by my school's Religious Life organization. The group's name is fairly self-explanatory, but in this case, these symbols are less recognizable. The round portion is the 8-sided path, which symbolizes Buddhism. The tree-like symbol near the top, whose name I can neither pronounce nor spell, is a hallmark of Shinto. The crudely-executed tulip represents Hinduism.
This is one of the rare examples of when someone actually likes my work. I was overjoyed to have been commissioned to do "One World", but when the lady in charge saw it, she pretty much commissioned this one then and there. Talk about synergy.
