Wordworker's Paper II

Wordworker's Paper II

2004. Handmade paper in a handmade shadow box. 33.5" x 20.5" x 4" Sold! But you can always commission a similar piece.

I love making paper. It's so Zenlike. Unfortunately, it often goes kind of sissy. That's why I put thick wood shavings and band saw blades into my paper. This stuff is 1/4" thick, and the manliest shade of pink you can imagine. Part of my personal joy with papermaking is the craftsmanship involved. It takes hours of working, placing layer after layer, before it feels "done." Of course, it's never really done... until somebody buys it, then it's pretty much done. In the end, the paper usually works too well to even print on (what I always tell myself I'll be using it for).

Some of my favorite pieces

I'm not a parent. I admit I have favorites...

One Dusk

One Dusk

The question isn't whether it's beautiful... the question is, is it really a depiction of dusk?

Whatever you do, do NOT let the pieces fall into the hands of a small child.

A Battle Under the Surface

A Battle Under the Surface.

It's just so... Line-y. Not to be confused with 'Limey.' Although I hear the British are pretty nautical...
