Complementary Splotch-Job

2004. Various scrap woods, glues and acrylic wash on plywood. 33" x 17" x 3". $249.99 plus $28.99 for shipping. Click here if you want this piece.

This piece was fun to make, and unfun to frame. It was also the first time I incorporated an acrylic wash into one of my wall pieces... for better or worse. In this piece, I wanted it to be as unified as possible; too often one composition is just a federation of small compositions. Here, I wanted everything to work together. I also noticed a certain yellowness, all over the piece... which is why I used a purple wash, as opposed to any other color. This is heavily busy, and just a little frantic (which is damn calm, for me).

Some of my favorite pieces

One Dusk

One Dusk

The question isn't whether it's beautiful... the question is, is it really a depiction of dusk?

Whatever you do, do NOT let the pieces fall into the hands of a small child.

A Battle Under the Surface

A Battle Under the Surface.

It's just so... Line-y. Not to be confused with 'Limey.' Although I hear the British are pretty nautical...
