2004. Acrylic on PVC pipe. 6' x 4' x 4' Not for sale. But you can always commission a similar piece.
I've finally done it. This piece was displayed on Easton Beach, in a show entitled, "Wind, Sea, Sky," and was my very first pvc pipe sculpture ever. I'm not terribly proud of my own technical skills, but at least it held together for awhile. This piece was based on a martial arts form I was learning at the time, based on the elements of water and wood. Wood wouldn't have worked so well in New England, but pvc is tough stuff. I had been wanting a venue in which to do a pvc pipe piece, and when I found the show, hosted here, I jumped at the opportunity. I based the Symbiotic Strength on this model. I hope it touches someone, other than just me.
Here's a little model... MUCH easier to assemble than the actual piece.
